“To us Jim's teaching is most similar to Eckhart Tolle, but unlike Tolle, who had an unexpected spontaneous awakening, Jim’s awakening came after years of spiritual seeking. His book, End Your Story, Begin Your Life, makes his teaching easy to relate to and his guidance down-to-earth and helpful.”

Yoga: The Spirit and Practice of Moving into Stillness
Normally we avoid, deny, resist, or try to push away unwanted experiences, but if you are facing conflict, upset, or suffering, you must learn to welcome, or at least accept, it. After all, it is showing you where you are not yet free.
Step 2: Notice The Story
Behind every reactive emotion, whether it is stress, self-doubt, guilt, anger, envy, jealousy, loneliness, anxiety, depression, or fear there is always a story, belief, or thought. Remind yourself: “I am not my story... I am the pure awareness that is present right now...”
Step 3: Breathe, Relax, And Be...
Now take a deep, slow breath, and relax into the feeling of being present. Observe any residual feelings or emotions, but don’t create a new story around them. Notice how “you,” as an aware being, the witness, are still very much here. Feel the shift in your energy, the new sense of ease and well-being. Feel how you are more truly present, more centered and grounded. You see everything anew, and can deal with what’s in front of you from a place of confidence and strength.
In time, as you get freer, you will inevitably inquire into this “me,” this “I” that you take yourself to be. This is the “fourth” step needed to fully awaken. When you see that the "I" is just a story too, the story-teller, your emotional energy harmonizes and living becomes rich in meaning, love, and purpose—plus a whole lot more fun! You can then use the power of thought, your goals and dreams, to create what you are passionate about.
